Happy Birthday my Helen!
We've had about a week of birthday festivities and still have a few gifts to open. Thank you cards are next on the agenda for Helen. She's never been into making cards with me like Carys. I really hope we have a breakthrough because she is becoming very interested in writing stories. Now we have to catch enough time to sit still and write cards to all the wonderful people in our lives who love her very much.
I love you my Helen, Happy 6 years!

Happy Birthday My Helen
We celebrated Helen's birthday with a breakfast birthday dinner and cupcakes. This year Poppy was sick and he was unable to participate, I pray he's better tomorrow (or tonight). So things were a little delayed. Thankfully, we seemed to have settled into the tradition of pancakes, eggs and link sausage with lots of syrup for birthday dinners. While it was not easy to juggle it all, we managed to survive, even the girls managed to fight over a few things but mostly played well together. Carys helped me wrap the presents this afternoon and prepare the table. Helen also had an onigiri (japanese rice ball) lunch with cupcakes for her entire class. This Sat. is her party for a few of her close friends and preschool mates.
Walker got a little toy he loves so he was happy for a time and Carys got a little something too since she helped me shop for Helen. I took some pictures and will get them up as soon as we set our computer up. I gave in and Helen got play makeup (totally plastic though she wanted the real "play" makeup) and an entire princess outfit. She's been talking about makeup since she was three. I'm not sure why it's in there but it is. Since I can't convince her to let it go, I have decided to work with it. Maybe we'll find an age appropriate outlet for her love of cosmetics and sparkly jewels.
Thanks to everyone who sent cards and gifts. She was thrilled to hear your birthday wishes.

Birthdays Past
Walker had a small party at home with a few friends and snacks. He was not happy with the direct attention during the cake presentation but got over it quickly once he started eating cake.
Poppy had a family birthday complete with homemade cupcake tower.
Carys had a small party with some girls from school. She enjoyed having her friends over. We had a ton of crafts, planted some seeds, the girls played Duck, Duck Goose and Simon Says. No one cried and everyone when home with an extra cupcake. Party success.

Happy Birthday Helen!
Helen had a good birthday morning. She opened her present. She got a baby crib, tub and toilet complete with flushing sound. We took Helen out to lunch at a new family restaurant we found and she and Carys played at a park and in the yard with the pool. We were so pooped today, we forgot to give her the birthday card that plays music and her cupcakes are sitting in my pantry. I think we've had enough celebration for the next few months!

Helen B'day
So we had to move Helen's birthday party to the basement. I'm sooooo thankful for the basement! We decorated party bags, had free play, play doh and a picnic. Then all "you know what" broke loose and the kids began to run through our small house. Luckily, the sun came out and we were able to go outside. Thanks to Tamra, we had outdoor activity, tubes and tents and bean bag toss for the swarm of kids. I have to say, I must get better about organizing parties but Poppy and I literally worked our butts off for the last few days prepping for Carys' graduation and Helen's b'day party. I'm happy to be sitting down. Tomorrow is Helen's real b'day, much more low key and more pics will come. It's just family and her special day. Love you Helen!

Helen's Second Birthday!!
Helen's loaded up on sugar and love this birthday. We took cupcakes to her school and had a little party at home tonight. She's growing up into a little person before our eyes. And a very willful, loving person she is.
Thanks to our family who sent their support and well wishes for her birthday even though you couldn't be here.
We'll have updates soon, there's lots more to catch up on with Carys and Helen!

Dance Party
Carys had a successful birthday party. All the kids were involved, had a great time and there were very few meltdowns. Ms. Diane is Carys's dance teacher and she is great with kids. At the end we had a parent dance and I'm please to say the parents actually participated. It was a short party, one hour. No cake, no mess and we were 5 minutes from home. We could not have asked for more.
Happy Fourth Birthday Carys!!
Carys is 4 today, I cannot believe it. Here she is preparing goodie bags for the children who will come to her party. I don't remember goodie bags when I was growing up. We did not have cake this year for her friends because we were having a dance class so we included some cookies and bubbles and a squirt gun for some spring fun.
